We waited about 30 minutes to get into the café, but it was worth it. The food was fantastic, and the portions were huge—definitely enough for two adults to share. However, since everyone around us seemed to order their own plate, we followed suit and ended up with lots of leftovers. Needless to say, we were so stuffed and I didn’t want any food the entire day after this breakfast.
The vibe of this café is absolutely 10/10. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they genuinely take the time to chat with customers, which made the dining experience even better.
As a sweet gesture, the owner shared their nonna’s homemade bread pudding with us, which was such a lovely touch.
Overall, it’s great food, great people, and great ambiance. I’d highly recommend this place—if not for the food, then definitely for the incredible vibe!
Yes, it lived up to the hype. The service, the food and the hectic yet somehow calm atmosphere made for a great breakfast. The food is simple yet satisfying. The service is friendly, funny and quick. The space is small and cramped but for some reason it feels it's exactly how it should be. If you are getting the full English breakfast, make sure you are really really hungry or you are sharing it with someone. It's massive.
I'm actually looking forward to coming here. It's incredible to own an Italian-British restaurant with family history. The food was delicious, the coffee was delicious, and the service was great and welcoming. They only accept cash. Place recycling plates and food to be served at the dining outlet at the same time. The environment is a bit messy, but within acceptable limits. But just after enjoying the perfect meal, something sad happened. After eating this meal, my partner and I began to feel unwell, experiencing symptoms of nausea, regurgitation, and food poisoning headaches. It was the only meal of the day because we couldn’t eat food anymore . We often had vomiting, headaches and fevers until the early hours of the morning. I never get sick from colds but food poisoning happened. Fortunately, the condition was relieved after emergency treatment the next day. This is a restaurant I was looking forward to, but something I didn't like to see happen. For me, who always writes reviews objectively and truthfully, I would give the overall result half a star. I wish this was just a restaurant incident, but the food poisoning didn't just happen to me, but to two or more people, so I still need to write it down to remind everyone. London is my home and I have never had food poisoning symptoms like this but unfortunately it happened. There may also be concerns about food safety due to the high temperatures in London. This matter is serious. Fortunately, our symptoms have eased. It would be terrible if people's lives were threatened. I hope you see this message and please be aware if you have any questions about the cleanliness of the restaurant. I hope restaurants will pay attention to food safety and hygiene issues to avoid food poisoning incidents like ours from happening again.
The food and service here is IMPECCABLE. We visited directly from the airport and had a short wait to get in. Once we were in, we were welcomed by EVERYONE. They were all interested in where we were from (very boring - Pennsylvania). They went above and beyond to make us happy. I don't eat a ton, so I had a bunch of leftovers and they offered to make them into a bacon sandwich - it was so sweet! And they sent us off with a complimentary piece of bread pudding, which was delicious. One thing to note - they are cash only, but there's an ATM directly across the street. When I asked, I was told to finish eating and worry about paying later. Truly an awesome experience.
Think of a warm heavy never ending hug version of a meal, think of E Pellicci as a deli version of your grandparents. It has all the caring hands, honest eyes, smile, old wooden furniture, Italian coffee, smell of home cooked meal and best tales from the history. The stories, flavours and kindness passed over generations. Legendary English Breakfast at an Italian family kitchen goes something like this.
Half a kilo of warm ceramic plate loaded with creamy earthy beans in tomato sauce;well seasoned. Charred grilled mushrooms and Italian tomatoes;both juicy. Deep fried has brown potatoes;golden brown. Thick slices of bacon and sausage in a shiny casing;THICCK. Greasy yellow toast; probably in bacon fat. Runny shiny creamy fried eggs to begin with.
